MOSES AND THE DELIVERY OF ISRAEL

Narrator: The Hebrews left their homeland fair The fabled Promised Land. To Egypt’s shores they came and there Found friendly welcome everywhere (‘Twas Pharaoh’s strict command). But after many years had flown. Old Pharaoh lived no more. The new Pharaon was very mean and he decided to kill all the newborns to prevent the rising of the hebrews. One day, a woman called Jocabed, had an idea.

Jocabed: I will save baby Moses. I will take him to the river and God will decide. Miriam Help me.

Miriam: Mom, he is going to die¡¡¡

Jocabed: No…God will protect him.

Narrator: Jocabed and Miriam took Moses to the Nile River and let him in the waters. The Princess of Egypt found him.

Princess: Look, what a beautiful baby boy. He will be my son.

Egyptian women: Ohhh¡ He is beautiful¡¡

Narrator: Moses grew up in the palace with Ramses as his brother and he became the prince of Egypt. Until one day he killed an Egyptian to defend a Hebrew slave. And then he was exile to the desert.

Egyptians soldiers: Moses is a Hebrew, he killed and Egyptian. He has to go¡¡¡

Moses: I am in alone. I need water. Oh¡ I see a pit.

Sephora: Who are you? Where do you come from?

Moses: I am Moses and I am a Hebrew.

Sephora’s sisters: Moses saved us from the bad men in the pit. He is a good man.

Sephora: Thank you. Come with me and live with my family.

Narrator: Moses and Sephora got married and after many years, while he was taking care of the sheep in the mountains…God appeared in a Burning Bush and He said:

God: Moses! I have chosen you to deliver my people. Go and speak with Ramses, the Pharaoh.

Narrator: He went back to Egypt and presented himself in front of Ramses:

Moses: Ramses, God says, Let my people go¡¡¡

Ramses: Never¡¡¡ they are my slaves. They will stay here.

Moses: God will show you His power.

Narrator: In front of Ramses and his guards, the stick Moses had in his hand became a snake.

Snake: Because of your hardness of heart God will send plagues to Egypt.

Narrator: Then God send darkness and all kinds of plagues to Egypt.

Shadow: The water became blood, fire fell from the sky, the animals and crops died and finally, the worst of all…

Narrator: the Angels of God came down and took all the first born in Egypt.

Angel of God 1: Now, we will take the souls of all the children of Egyptians.

Angel of God 2: But not the ones from Israel, because they are protected by God.

Egyptian women: Ramses please let the people from Israel go¡¡¡

Ramses: Ok. You can go and never come back.

Narrator: Moses and the people of Israel leave Egypt and cross the Red Sea with the Wonders of God.
